Viewpoint is a stand-alone Tubular offering which can be purchased independently of, or in addition to Intelligence+.
- If you already have an active Intelligence+ seat: You can have Viewpoint added to your existing Tubular account. Viewpoint will appear as a new tab within the Tubular web application.
- If you do not have a Tubular account, and are invited to access your company’s Viewpoint account, you will need to create one. However, you do NOT need an Intelligence+ seat in order to access Viewpoint.
Viewpoint is an intuitive social video analytics tool. It focuses on monitoring your own social channels’ performance, while also providing data on related topics and competitors.
On this Page:
Monitored creators
Each Viewpoint account is set up with monitoring for a selection of creators of your choosing. Every user on your Viewpoint account will see data for the same creators on the My Content Performance and My Audience tabs. Monitored creators’ performance will also appear for benchmarking in the Competitive tab.
A creator in Tubular refers to the cross-platform social presence. A single creator can include up to 1 social account (handle) for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Tubular identifies and groups similar social accounts into a single Creator. To do this, we look for similarities in social accounts such as:
- Similar username
- Similar thumbnail
- Shared email
- Shared links between two accounts
Viewpoint currently only supports Creators (no properties or sub-properties).
We recommend choosing monitored creators that would be considered your O&O (Owned & Operated) social channels, as this data populates in the “My Content Performance” and “My Audience” tabs. You can request a change to your monitored creators up to 2X per year by "support@tubularlabs.com."
My Content Performance
When you sign into your Viewpoint account you will land on the My Content Performance tab.
Here you will find at-a-glance insights about your monitored social creators including how many views, engagements, and uploads occurred in the last 3, 7, or 30 days. This makes it easy to spot recent spikes in activity on videos that were posted in the last 90 days, and keep tabs on how recently uploaded videos are performing.
You can view data for one creator at a time, and for one platform at a time (with the exception of the cross-platform performance chart).
The My Content Performance tab also provides video-level performance data for videos uploaded within the last 90 days.
- Estimated views gained in the last 3, 7 or 30 days
- All time views
- Estimated engagements gained in the last 3, 7, or 30 days
- All time engagements
Viewpoint Metrics
Audience Demographics include audience age, gender, and location (country). Demographics are available for YouTube and Facebook only.
Average engagement by publishing day/time is a interactive heat map lets you see the optimal times to publish content, based on audience engagements. Darker colors represent more engagement, while lighter colors represent less engagement.
- Times are displayed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is the primary time standard globally used to regulate clocks and time. You can use any UTC time converter such as this one
Average engagement by duration is a bar chart lets you quickly see which video durations resonated most with your audience for each platform.
New Subscribers Gained The incremental subscribers a channel gains during the selected time range, as compared to the previous time range
Video Uploads Gained The incremental number of videos uploaded on a platform during the selected time range, as compared to the previous time range
Lift Average The difference between the average of the baseline and trend period (how much growth happened between the two periods)
Range Specifies the time period (the last 3, 7 or 30 days) where views, engagements, and uploads occurred
My Audience
Just like the My Content Performance tab, the My Audience tab is populated with data for your monitored creators.
All data on the My Audience tab is based on audience viewership and engagements for videos uploaded in the last 90 days with the exception of Audience Demographics and Audience Interests, which are based on the last 6 months.
The My Audience tab is where you can see audience-focused insights including:
- Audience Demographics
- Average engagement by publishing day/time
- Average engagement by duration
- Audience Interests
Explore
The Explore tab includes insights that are based on platform-wide social video viewership measured by Tubular. This provides a holistic view of social video consumption for videos that were uploaded in the last 90 days. The Explore tab is NOT based on your monitored creators, so the data will not change by selecting a different creator from your dropdown list.
There are two sections within the Explore tab:
Trending Topics
Tubular’s Trending feature lets you evaluate the velocity of social video content to see what’s gaining or losing steam. Viewpoint includes the top Trending Topics within specific Video Categories.
First, select a platform.
Then, select a Video Category. You can type to search for a specific category, and you will see the list of available results update as you type.
Content Opportunities
On the Content Opportunities tab within the Explore tab, first select your platform:
Next, select your category.
Next, select a country. Since Viewpoint currently only supports English language categories and topics, you can choose to filter Content Opportunities based on videos from creators from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, or Canada.
You will see a scatterplot with Topics related to the category you selected. The Y axis is viewership and the X axis is Total Videos Published.
You can also change the Y axis to show Engagements instead of Views.
Opportunity Zone:
The highlighted Opportunity Zone shows you topics which are popular (have high views or engagements) but have relatively low saturation (small volume of videos published) in the last 90 days. This is a great way to quickly get ideas about what content to publish on each platform.
Competitive
In the Competitive tab, you can benchmark the performance of your monitored creators against other creators on social. You can add any creator that is part of Tubular’s creator database, which includes more than 40M creators.
